I was shocked and disappointed today when I got this news.  I don’t know the details, only what I have read, which is below.  I do know Paul OPaul Orberson the owner and he is one of the “good guys” in the industry.  I can’t tell you much about the compensation plan other than like many other companies, it uses a coded bonus program.  What really bothers me about this situation is the company has been operating in Kentucky since 2000 if I remember correctly.  That’s over 12 years!  Like all network marketing companies the purchase of products or services is VOLUNTARY!

We seem to becoming a society where no one is allowed to fail and if they do, it is somebody or some companies fault.

I don’t like government workers treating people like school kids.  We are adults, we make our own decisions, we invest our money with whom we want, we join or not join a company based upon our investigation of facts.  Most businesses fail!  Was Fortune Hi Tech a good opportunity?  I don’t know, I never took the time to really investigate it. In general I don’t like deal with technology because it is constantly changing.  However it do know the leaders I have met in Fortune Hi Tech over the years are good people, and that is what bother me the most regarding this situation.

Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing of Lexington, Ky., and its top two executives were sued by the FTC and the attorneys general of Kentucky, North Carolina and Illinois for “unfair and deceptive actions” that violated state and federal laws. Among the charges: Misrepresenting that the company is “a good way for average people to make substantial income and achieve financial independence.”

“Today’s actions are the beginning of the end for one of the most prolific pyramid schemes operating in North America,” said Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway.

The headquarters and a warehouse for Lexington, Ky.-based Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing were raided Monday morning and the contents confiscated by a receiver appointed by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The receiver, Robb Evans, and his firm met with FHTM employees and sent most home.
