I hope you have had a wonderful week. Dawn and I spent last weekend in Dallas where I spoke at the Skinny Body Care National Conference. I was great to be around such a fired up group of people many whose life has been totally transformed by the product. We were shocked at the number of 50+ pounds lost weight loss stories we heard. The number one reason I like doing events like this for various companies and organizations is the people that attend events are serious and hungry to learn. The feedback we have received from people who attended the event and watched on the live stream has been wonderful. I enjoy sharing information that I KNOW when implemented can make an immediate positive impact.

March madness continues, and I started pulling for Indiana a little too late. At the beginning of the tournament I said I was just waiting for Tennessee to get beat in the NIT and Indiana and Louisville to get knocked out ot the NCAA. However I start pulling for Indiana this week when my oldest daughter whom many of you have met (Brittanie) let me know that if Indiana made it to the Final Four which is here in Atlanta, they were going to come and stay with us. They being my daughter, grandchildren and her husband who is a really good man but his #1 flaw is he is a huge Indiana fan. There is not much that can get a Kentucky basketball fan to root for Indiana except the chance to spend time with his daughter and grandchildren. Oh well, Indiana got beat last night by Syracuse, so I guess they won't be coming to Atlanta to visit us while attending the Final Four.

This is Easter Weekend, and I hope you will be able to spend it with those you love and care about. Dawn and I will be spending it with her parents and 5 sisters and their families. I look forward to it, and every time I mention anything in this newsletter that is regarding politics or religion people unsubscribe and tell me how a business newsletter should not mention such things, but here it goes …….

If that offends you, then you should unsubscribe, but I still hope you and yours will be blessed this weekend and throughout 2013.

MLM EGO: Is it stopping you from the break through?

I want you to think about this question for a few seconds, because it will give you a real insight into yourself that you may not really understand. Are you ready for the question?

When was the last time you invested in a seminar, training program, book, or marketing course? Before you get negative or defensive, understand, I did not say when was the last time you invested in a training program, book or marketing course from DALE CALVERT or CALVERT MARKETING GROUP!

For all I care you could have purchased it from Zolvee in Zimbabwe. My question simply is when is the last time you invested in a seminar, training program, book, or marketing course?

After 30 years in the network marketing industry what I am going to try to communicate is clearer to me than it has ever been. Most network marketers with "Leadership Titles" are NOT people who invest in themselves and their own personal education.

Yes, you read that correctly. Many network marketing leaders, built it on their own drive, determination, personality and work ethic as I talked about 15 years ago in the Masses book.

Many built it 15 – 20 years ago, and quite frankly if they had to start over today, they wouldn't have a clue where to start. I realize that when I make statements like this a large portion of our readers get offended.

STOP

Are you offended by that statement?

WHY?

As they say, if the shoe fits ………… wear it. Listen, I am not trying to offend you, I am trying to help you, but if you continue to do what you have always done, the way you have always done it, your downline and income will continue to diminish!

Sorry, that was my attempt to provide some comic relief for the tension that I KNOW I have created with some of you.

The truth is in today's marketing environment, you must expand your knowledge base if you are going to compete. The only way you can do that is to find people that have already done what you are trying to do and invest in seminars, coaching, training programs, etc.

Network marketers have a different kind of ego, that I don't quite understand. Most network marketers feel that if they pay for coaching, a seminar, CD, DVD or bring in an outside speaker, like me to help them grow their organization; that is a sign of weakness, after all they are a Triple Jedi Ambassador Diamond or whatever title the company has given them.

I recently had a conversation with another industry trainer and consultant about this, because we are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Most newbies are not willing to invest in educational materials to help them build their business correctly and leaders who can afford the material think they don't need it.

In about 5 minutes we named 100 people that we both knew that were one time earning over $100,000 a year in the industry who today are no longer involved in network marketing. WHY, because their ego prevented them from taking their business to the next level.

I have heard it said, knowledge happens AFTER you already know it all. At some point the majority of network marketers with leadership titles realize "I am not duplicatable". At that point they have a decision to make. They can continue to go around the country and tell their story and play Elvis, which is what most do, or they can decide to do whatever they have to do to have a break through and take their business to a new level.

I have watched the scenario play out over and over the past 30 years. 95% of the coaching clients and organizations I work with have a leader that came to the "I am not duplicatable" cross road and made the decision to put their ego aside and implement systems and programs to help their organizations duplicate and move forward.

I remember few years ago when we had the great Bob Crisp speak at one of our events. He said:

"Ten thousand dollar a month earners are a dime a dozen in this industry, if you aren't earning six figures a month, you can't even get in the room with the people I hang out with" Somehow that mentality needs to be restored in our industry. I cannot stress how important it is for take your $10,000 to $30,000, $50,000 or more ASAP before it starts going backwards. As I talk about in the free book Pinnacle MLM Leadership the goal is really not to get your personal income to $10,000 a month it is about how many people on your team get to that level.

When I look back over my career in this industry I was fortunate, because nothing came easy for me and I had none of the skills sets and mindset it takes to develop a network marketing organization. I was a twenty year old kid who had to learn it all from the ground up, and the only thing I had going for me was an extra dose of determination.

It took me 5 long years to replace my full time income and my 9th year I finally got to $92,00 but my 10th year I made $252,00 and my 11th year was my first 1 Million dollar year and my 13th year my income jumped to over 3 million and I had over 100 six figure earners on my team. How did this happen?

Because early in my career I realized I didn't know anything. I took Jim Rohn's advice and invested 10% of my income back into my personal education every month and I have never stopped. When Dawn and I got married 3 years ago I told her I only spend money on two things …. memories and personal education.

So again I ask you, when was the last time you invested in personal coaching, a seminar, or DVD or CD training program?

That answer will tell you where you are. If you are new in the industry and starting out the best advice I can give you is invest 10% of your income back into your own personal development. I would be cheating you if I didn't tell you THE MLM TRAINING CLUB is the perfect place to start. If you have a leadership title in your company, you are really who this article was written for and honestly the article you just read has very little to do with the article I had planned on writing, but I just went with it. I hope that means some of you really needed to hear it.

I am sure some of you think it was some kind of pitch to get you to invest in the MLM Training Club. This is not for newbies, it is for established leaders that need insight and ideas and to have breakthrough to take their business to a new level. I know I can help you. So on April 3rd, I will conduct (8) 30 minute sessions for the first 8 people that call our office and schedule them.

I have heard it said "Ego is a disease that makes everyone sick except the person with the disease" and I agree with that, but that was not what this article is about! MLM Ego is different. The truth is if you have achieved a leadership rank in any MLM company you are not normal. You have some people skills, communication ability and work ethic that most don't have. I appreciate you because you are the one's that have taken the industry to this point in history. I just want to encourage you to understand there are really good people on your team, that must have duplicatable systems in place to achieve their dream. What you needed and what they need is DIFFERENT!

Systems are duplicatalbe, personality is not. With the right systems and programs in place you can explode your income and your business, without them your growth is dependent upon how many natural leaders you can find. Let's face it, those people are hard to find unless they are in between projects, because they are already building their dream. 27% of your team can build huge organizations and six figure incomes with the right systems, but only 3% will do it on their own. We all know 70% of the population will die with their music still in them, regardless.

You can avoid this reality, or embrace it, and build an empire. If nothing else MLM Leaders, take some time and read this booklet. MLM Masses.
