If you do direct outreach prospecting, which by the way is the most effective way to find frustrated network marketers who are considering a change, you will be shocked at how many seemingly intelligent people have drank the anti direct messaging propaganda. In the real world it is called head hunting and it is a common business practice. Nothing more effecitve than contact people directly in your target market.

However people with leadership titles in Modere especially, but also Q Science, Valentus, and other companies are scared to death and don’t want their distributors using direct outreach to contact their target market, why is that? Because they know experienced pros will indentifly the flaws in their compensation plan or me too product line, and if distributors in mediocre companies contact pros the only result would be people pivoting into programs… Continue reading »

I guess I was born with entrepreneurial DNA. I can’t remember a time in my life where I was not in business. From finding, cleaning, and turning in pop bottles for the 2 cent deposit when I was five years old to being a principle in a 100 million dollar company with nearly 80 staff members and over 60,000 independent contractors.

 

At this point in my journey I would say without question, the reason most people that think they want to become entrepreneur’s fail is ……….

1) FEAR OF REJECTION
2) FEAR OF FAILURE

 

 

As I write this article. I realize that there are some people who have no fear, who also fail. Not because they are afraid to take action, but because they don’t think.

At the time of this writing, Dawn and I just got back from a long weekend in Seattle Washington, where we celebrated our wedding anniversary and her birthday.  I spoke at a marketing event on Saturday where  we had the opportunity to meet many of the readers of this blog, and our MLM Training Club members for the first time. Let me be as clear as possible.  If any network marketing leader, guru, rock star, upline, downline, or anyone else is trying to convince you, you should start a blog ……….. THEY ARE MORE INTERESTED IN SELLING YOU SOMETHING than providing you proper direction to build your team! 

If this is unsettling to you, I hope you will read every word of this article with a 1/2 way open mind. For most network marketing distributors to achieve their real potential with this business model, they must Wake UP!  The market is full of wolf’s in sheep’s clothing telling you exactly what you want to hear, so they can sell you what they want to sell you.

I get emails daily from customers and clients that have drank the Kool-aide.

Someone they perceive to be a Network Marketing Leader has sold them that they must BUILD THEIR BRAND on social media before they can build their network marketing team. (And oh yes, join this affiliate program so you have something to sell to the 97% of people you talk to that won’t be interested)

This misguided story has not changed much since I wrote the 7 Lies of Attraction Marketing a few years ago.

At the time this book was originally published, everyone was pushing newbies to the various affiliate programs, Google and other paid ad platforms. Today, the internet has been replaced with Social Media.

The longer I am involved in network marketing, the more I am convinced as a business model we make it ten times harder to build a team than it needs to be.
