I pride myself on the fact that when I entered the network marketing industry over 30 years ago, I was smart enough to know what I didn’t know which was basically every skill set and mindset it took to develop a TEAM. So I studied and learned from the great thinkers in history, like Earl Nightingale.
This is a wisdom of the ages talk, that I do think leaders should listen to. I FEEL IT NEEDS TO BE MEMORIZED!
When you sponsor a new team member BEFORE THEY DO ANYTHING! Step one is always to complete what we call a Top 20 and Top 3 Reasons sheet. Until they have completed that first step and what I call thrown the ball back, they wouldn’t get 1 minute of my time or support. Our job as leaders is to give our Team the best chance for success we possibly can, and that always starts with THEM figuring out WHY they want to BUILD A BUSINESS!
If they are just looking for a few hundred extra dollars a month, I would suggest they do something else, sell hammers at the flea market or something. Network Marketing is about Wealth Creation and building a business, it is not about making a few extra hundred bucks a month. You are looking for people that are not focused on making money, they are focused on building a business. Do you understand the difference in those mindsets? The sooner you recognize the wants, needs, and desires of your team member, and the sooner you help them get clear on their why, the easier it is to start directing them, and STEP #1 IS ALWAYS …….. Complete your Top 20 Reasons sheet, and your Top 3.
