There is nothing worse than a person who has been played, not
knowing they were played, except when they pass flawed ideas
on to others.
The question I hope you are asking yourself right now, is
who is writing this, and why should I care what they say?
Let me be very clear. I AM WRITING THIS FOR YOU, NOT FOR ME.
I don’t have a dog in the hunt. I do not have a company or affiliate
product to sell you, and I don’t need to make my living selling you
training programs that will tell you what you want to hear.
This is why reading this entire article is
worth your time. Before retiring from building
network marketing teams at age 39, I developed
more 5-6 & 7 figure income earners on my personal
team than any network marketing, teacher, trainer,
consultant, guru, or “Rock Star” in the world.
If that statement doesn’t say to you, turn off my cell phone, take a
breath, take a minute, open my mind and really try to hear what this
guy is saying, then please click away from this article now.

Good, stay with me, the last thing in the world I ever want to do
is waste one minute of your time.
Before I get into the meat, let me make one more suggestion. Don’t click on

the meat I am getting ready to share can give you a real Ah Ha awareness like
you have never experienced, so please don’t click away during your first read.
Every time I hear a person who has been around network marketing
5 years or less talk about Modern Network Marketing vs. Old School
I realize it is not their fault.
Whoever taught them got played 15 years ago, and maybe they never
even had a full understanding of what happened. I always try to give
people the benefit of the doubt. But at some point in every network
marketing leaders path, they have to understand attraction marketing
methods are only going to work for 1% of the population, don’t they?
Does anybody else find it fascinating
that the core group of people who
flooded the network marketing
industry with the flawed concept of
of Attraction Marketing 15 years ago,
today are not involved in the industry?
Did they take the money and run?
Is it because every year it is more than obvious to anyone who has been
around network marketing a few years, and has any awareness at all …
attraction marketing has created more casualties than any other
marketing strategy ever in the history of network marketing?
Did they ever realize that it was never about getting them in, but
keeping them in and helping them move forward?
THAT IS WORTH PAUSING AND THINKING
ABOUT MY FRIEND.
Look I have offered to discuss, argue, talk about, debate this,
with anybody anytime, anywhere, as long as I can record the
entire conversation and use it in its entirety as I see fit in the
future. That has been a standing offer since the first flawed ebook
hit the market years ago. I understand there is a ton of money
to be made telling people what they want to hear, but is network
marketing about building a team, or selling affiliate products?
Does ego prevent them from pivoting?
The truth is, every time I see talented 1%ers talking about
attraction marketing, blogging, and giving people tips
instead of systems, I know when it is all said and done,
they will end up helping about 10% of the people they
could impact if they just understood what the masses
needed. It is impossible for them to maximize their
upside potential simply because they were taught the
wrong philosophy and that is sad. The industry needs
these people to really focus on developing people instead
of creating their following.
Here is a novel idea…. THE BEST WAY TO CREATE A
FOLLOWING IS BY DEVELOPING A TRACK RECORD OF
BUILDING REAL NETWORK MARKETING LEADERS!
At the time I am writing this post Dawn and I are
actually in Budapest Hungary. I am speaking at an event
and they tell me there will be at least a 1,000 distributors will be in
attendance from numerous companies and I am the only speaker.
It is kinda humbling. 1,000 people showing up to hear a southern
talking American who will be translated into 5 different languages.
There is no question, when I joined the industry I was in the
most least likely to achieve category. If not for an understanding
of how average people think, and what average people need, I call
them the 27%ers, I never would have been able to develop a team
of over 1000 five, six, and seven figure earners. That is why I
ask you to consider what I am desperately trying to communicate.
Two Words you should always consider TRACK RECORD.
How many teachers do you know that have a documented
track recorded of DEVELOPING that many leaders on their team?
Walking around Budapest Hungary, you can find pull-tab flyers
all over the city. It reminded me how many times I have
heard in the past 15 years. “Our team only builds online” or
recently “Our team only uses Social Media”.
Let me be perfectly clear. If that is what you are teaching,
you are leaving 90% of your upside potential on the table.
Not because you are a bad person, but because you have
blindly accepted a flawed philosophy? How can I say blindly?
15 year track record of 99% failure that was promoted
by those that never built duplicating teams! Sure they
got rich telling people what they wanted to hear, but how
many six figure earners did they develop? Isn’t that the
question we should really be asking?

I believe that generating leads for your business is the easiest
part of this business. It is simply numbers. The challenge is
people think they are going to discover one magic method
that will produce an endless supply of people calling them
at all hours screaming their credit card number in the phone
demanding to join their team with the highest PV/BV product
package available.
Their aint no Fu Fu dust my friend!
Just proven, Wisdom of the ages Success principles and marketing
methods that work for everybody, who takes the time to master
them, and implement them correctly.
Practice doesn’t make perfect, only
PERFECT Practice makes perfect.
I sincerely feel sorry for distributors who hit a particular
online marketing channel at the right time, capitalized
on it and were able to sponsor a ton of people.
You name the online marketing channel
- Solo Ads
- Craigslist
- Google Adwords
- MySpace
the list goes on an on.
Why do I feel sorry for them?
Marketing channels change their algorithms. I have
had friends that have based their entire business on
one marketing channel. When it changes, almost overnight
they watch their business die.
As I have been trying to communicate since 1997 the internet
is a great addition to the proven lead generation methods of the
past, it is not a replacement for them, no matter how many
attraction marketers try to sell you different. Yes, I said sell you
on purpose, because their real hope is to sell you on a worthless
affiliate product that will ultimately lead 99% of distributors
down another dead end path.
I have always taught and believed that ultimately your
goal should be to MASTER LEAD GENERATION. When
you depend upon one or two online channels you
are flirting with disaster. It is not a matter of if it will
all come tumbling down, only when. People have been
saying for years that direct mail and post cards are
dead. The truth is, our students have been successfully
running direct mail campaigns since the 80’s and the
response rate has been consistent. Mark my words,
you are going to see more and more people using
direct mail as part of their lead generation methods
going forward.
It has always worked, and frankly it is working better
today than it ever has. Direct mail is just one of multiple
proven lead generation methods that “modern” self
proclaimed mlm gurus try to make fun of. There is nothing
more fascinating to me than someone talking about
that which they have no business talking about.
What is that old saying “It is better to be thought of as ignorant
than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt”
Yes, I believe that common sense and time has proven

At this point in the history of network marketing the
failure rate for those who drank the attraction marketing
Koolaide and died a slow painful MLM death is staggering.
I would even say horrifying!

At this point in history that really is not debatable is it?

7 Lies of Attraction Marketing
Listen I believe in Attraction marketing if
you are a traditional business with a product
or service to sell. I get it, I understand it,
our team uses multiple attraction marketing
methods in the other traditional businesses we
own and operate.
The reason it hasn’t worked and will never duplicate
in network marketing is because the real product
is PEOPLE, not products and services.
Think about that, this is the distinction that most people
never take the time to think about. For attraction marketing
to work with the network marketing business model, you
have to be attractive. You have to have a different
kind of ego, personality, advertising budget, etc. etc.
and 99% of the PEOPLE don’t have that DNA make
up or financial backing.
When gurus tell their team to Brand themselves, 99%
of honest, ethical, PEOPLE see through that strategy
for what it really is.
“Act like something You’re Not”
Those who aren’t ego driven will never be
comfortable with that.
Want proof?
Just do a search on YouTube for home business
consultant, attraction marketing specialist, Business
Consultant, Network Marketing Rock Star, MLM
Mentor, etc. etc. and notice the thousands of dormant
accounts.
The pattern would be comical if it wasn’t so sad.
People make videos for six weeks calling themselves
something they’re not after buying the latest attraction
marketing affiliate program, or how to brand yourself
as a guru course, then they leave the industry
embarrassed, shameful, never to return.
They never had a chance simply because they never stopped
to ask themselves who is this person and why should I
be listening to them? More importantly, what is their track
record for developing network marketing leaders?
What really blows my mind is there are still people
in the market teaching Network Marketers this
because they know it is what the unaware
newbies want to be sold. That is unethical, I don’t
care how many followers you have on Facebook!
Yes, I said sold instead of told.
The real question is not how to create leads, that
sincerely is the easiest part of the business. I cover lead

THE REAL MLM LEAD NUMBERS.
The real question is what am I going to do with them,
after they contact me? The even more important
questions is if they join me, how am I am going to
help them get started?
Two weeks ago I actually talked to a person who had
been buying leads every month and pounding the phones
every night.
I asked them What is your play one? What is your recruiting
process. They had no idea what I was talking about. They
were just hoping someone would pick up the phone so they
could talk them into joining their deal. I sent this person to
our FRAMEWORK Webinar and ask them to contact me after
they watched it.
Their response, I hope it doesn’t cost anything because I had to
drop off my autoship to be able to maintain my membership in
XYZ affiliate program and keep my “fresh hot leads” coming in.
I assured him it was free and I had nothing to sell him or an
opportunity to pitch him. I made it very clear, it made no
difference to me if he knew me, liked me, or trusted me.
Track record is track record. If he wants to build a business I can
help at a different level than all the self proclaimed gurus he had been
spending big bucks with.
Some of you might be laughing now at the total lack of understanding
this person had about what he was doing. As an industry that has been
around for 80 years we should all be ashamed.
My first thought was who sponsored this person?
My second thought, what guru sold him into XYZ affiliate program
and that buying leads was the way to launch his business?
Yes, I am sick and tired of the Old School — New School War that was
started years ago by those who had an agenda… SELL/TELL NEWBIES
THEY CAN BE THE HUNTED INSTEAD OF THE HUNTER and sell
them an ebook affiliate program. It is my feeling that many of the
people promoting this strategy were sincere, others were just out
to make a quick buck.
As Jim Rohn said, “Never mistake sincerity with truth, some people are
sincerely wrong”
The truth is if you prospect correctly and systematically you will never
have a hunter mentality.
You are simply looking for the right person at the right time
in their life. That is the attitude that every network marketer who
has been around at least 90 days should have programmed in their
minds by a competent upline leader, because it is the truth!
You start in your local market and warm market because statistically
and emotionally your odds are greater for success there, if you
understand it is not about who you know, it is about who they know,
as we have been teaching since 1983!
As a profession we have to start calling BS on all the illogical
strategies being thrown about like common business practices
within the industry before they become even more destructive.
If 1,000 people say a stupid thing, it is
still a stupid thing!
If I hear another person tell me I almost have my blog done so I
can launch my business I think I will just poop my pants.
When you hear this kind of nonsense ask them two things.
#1 Who told you, you needed a blog before you can launch?
A better question is who sold you the blog course?
#2 Who sponsored you?
Then care enough about people to tell them what they NEED TO HEAR
not necessarily what they WANT TO HEAR. If you want to call
yourself a leader, it is your responsibility to know the difference.
Some of you have been around long enough to remember all the
Throw away your Warm Market List headlines that were going
around a 15 years ago so that “self proclaimed gurus” who had
never built a team could sell their ebooks and affiliate products.
Not much has changed, has it?
Whose fault is that?
Network Marketing done correctly offers the best 3-5 year game
plan for financial independence in the world.
Yes the industry should be leading the entrepreneurial awakening happening
around the world right now, but it’s not. Make no mistake about it is our
own fault. To rebound and move forward out of this state of dissipation
it is going to take all of us doing the RIGHT THING every day.
Dissipation?
You must not have heard A CRITICAL MESSAGE TO NETWORK
MARKETING LEADERS. THE 4 STAGES OF A MOVEMENT.
If you sincerely care about the long term future of this
business model this is a training you must
listen to very closely. I mean turn off the TV, social Media, put
you headphones on, shut the door and LISTEN! No there is
nothing to sell you, I am trying to save you from a slow
Painful death.
If you don’t hear anything understand this!
After someone works their butt off and ultimately gets to a full-time income
level with the network marketing business model. The odds are greater that
five years from that point, they will be out of the industry; rather than they
will have moved forward financially and DEVELOPED six figure earners on
their team.
Imagine if this was the case for any other profession.
How many restaurant owners get to six figures and leave the restaurant business?
Real estate agents, insurance agents or any other profession?
WAKE UP MY FRIEND!
Something is BAD WRONG & Believe it or not, I KNOW WHAT THE
SOLUTION IS! Not because I say I do, but because TRACK RECORD
is TRACK RECORD.
In closing, I just want to say, that I belief those who learn and teach
the core fundamentals SYSTEMATICALLY have a brighter future
than at any point in the history of this profession. As I write this
sentence I KNOW leaders around the world are saying to themselves,
“I teach the Core Fundamentals, S Y S T E M A T I C A L L Y”.
Please hear me, “To thy own self be True”.

leaders?
Is your focus on “Attracting a Leader from another company” or
developing HOME GROWN leaders?

marketing leaders at a systematic level most self proclaimed network
marketing gurus have never even thought about, much less actually
implemented and proved.
Yes, I understand that many of my statements may appear to be egotistical
or braggadocious . Yes, I understand that I can rub those with leadership titles in
network marketing companies the wrong way.
I don’t blame you for feeling that way, but I suggest you ask around to those
that really know me. Yes, on many levels, it bothers me to communicate this way.
However, when the rubber hits the road, TRACK record is TRACK record.
There are no emotions in FACTS.
I am not a moron. If my ultimate goal was to sell seminar seats I could
take the easy way out and tell everybody what they want to hear. That
is easy! Just stroke the ego of every guru, and every leader in every
company. I could tell everyone how great network marketing is and provide
false hope without real direction. I could encourage everyone to hold hands
and sing Kumbaya, that is the easy way to create a following. Better yet
I could just spend time on my other business ventures and forget this
crazy business model once and for all! The truth is I can’t. I am not able.
The industry transformed my life. I am doing this, writing this, and
communicating this, because nobody in the market place that I can find
is willing to tell you WHAT YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO UNDERSTAND TO GIVE
YOURSELF A FIGHTING CHANCE AT THE INCOME AND LIFESTYLE residual
income provides.
