My response is do you mean inside, or outside of the network marketingindustry. The response I normally get is "both".
Some of the best advice I have ever heard is "You have to say no to a lot of good ideas.so you have time for the GREAT ONES".
As a marketer and training I have people pitching me ideas daily.
Over 50% of them can be eliminated, but just answering the question, who is the real customer for the product? If it is primarily only the people in the business ( IE ILA I Living App) RUN!

Dawn and I have been experimenting, testing, and learning Kindle Publishing now for almost two years. We have spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours on training programs, most which were out dated by the time we read them. But with all of that we now have
a Amazon Kindle Best Selling book selling great, that we didn't write, and nearly 3 dozen books published.
I know what the next big trend is, but right now don't have the time to study and learn it. It is definitely cell phone apps and marketing via text messages. I have messed around with both of these business models, and had success marketing with text messages and creating leads, but to master any business model, it takes a focused concentrated effort for a period of time. Find the trends, get in front of them, and learn all you can, then apply what you learn.
