The one thing I know for sure, is the older I become the faster time goes by. I have heard that all my life and I started to feel it in my 30's and then in my 40's it seems like time started moving even faster. At the time of this writing the first quarter of 2013 is almost over. So how is your 2013 going?
For most people things don't change much, because they don't. I have now been involved in the home business market for over 30 years, what about you?
A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to meet with an old friend who has been involved in marketing now about 20 years, he is doing the same thing today to try to build his home business that he was doing twenty years ago. It didn't work very well then and it's not now.
I asked him 3 things.
1) What book are you reading right now?
2) How many live training seminars did you attend last year?
3) How many training webinars have you been in in the last 30 days?
The truth is, we are improving, growing, learning, and getting better or we are going backwards. The sad part about network marketing is most people that built businesses 15 or 20 years ago did it based upon their own personality and work ethic, and folks that can not be duplicated.
In today's market the dog and pony shows aren't very well attended. You have to have substance and you have to have an aquired knowledge base that you can pass on to your team members and game plan to help them progress and move forward in their business.
So let me asked you what I asked my old friend……
1) What book are you reading right now?
2) How many live training seminars did you attend last year?
3) How many training webinars have you been in in the last 30 days?
Life moves faster and faster. The only way to get better is decide to change. The only thing that really makes a difference in our life from year to year is the knowledge we aquire and implement. We cannot forget the implementation. "Knowledge without action leads to self delusion" There is probably not a person reading this post who hasn't heard dozens if not hundreds of times, "The money is in the list", but what percent do you think actually have started building a list?
It seems like the older I become the gap between learner and non learners grows further and further apart. Non learners are intimidated by the pace and technology in business today. They are lost and it is becoming harder and harder to hide their lack of knowledge. Good people? Absolutely, awesome people, but they are trying to do business the way they have always done it, and quite frankly the numbers have changed!
I could go on and on, I just wanted to encourage you tonight. The first 1/4 of 2013 is almost over, and if you don't like what you are seeing …… MAKE CHANGES ………
Decide what you want, and what you have to do to get there and go for it! As for list building, this is a good place to start. and if you have not subscribed to our "NO FLUFF MARKETING" newsletter you can do that here.
