The world of the generous grows larger-The world of the stingy gets smaller

As most of you know, my oldest daughter (Brittanie) is married to Andrew Brown a pastor and they are the parents of my one and only grandchild, Chapel Grace Brown. (My heart just melts when I type her name) As someone has said if I knew grandchildren would be soooo much fun, I would have had them first.

Anyway, Andrew is a very anointed pastor and communicator, every time I hear him, I think to myself I have to start bringing my journal to take notes. I use to take my journal to church every week, but over the years have gotten out of the habit. I am going to start doing it again, because it seems that every week, I am searching for a bulletin and pen to take notes.

Yesterday I wrote one note from Andrews sermon:

One of my early mentors Dr. Forrest Shaklee said:

"You keep that which you give away"

In today's marketing world, there seems to be two types of gurus. Those that are "Money Motivated" and those that are "People Motivated" most of the time until you get inside somebodies world, it is really hard to tell between the two.

I have always believed that within the "marketing world" your income is in direct proportion to the amount of value you add to the market place. If you sincerely focus on giving value over time, customers see and feel that.

If your focus is only on making money your customers will also feel that over time, I don't think it is something that can be faked. I have been marketing online and doing live seminars since 1994. When I think back, I am shocked at how many internet marketing gurus and seminar speakers have fallen off of the face of the earth. Many of them at one time would have been considered "Big Names" They were money motivated, stingy people who's world continued to dwindle and become smaller and smaller until it basically disappeared.

The same goes for six figure income earning network marketers. I could easily make a list of 200 people in the next 10 minutes that at one time were making 100K a year who today are no longer in the industry. It is sad, very sad.

Be truthful to yourself

Do you tend to be stingy, selfish, and greedy? Fix that and fix it now!

Do you tend to be people focussed? Understand that people will let you down and disappoint you, but you can not let that take you out. Those that you help the most, will turn on you the hardest. People will let you down, but do good anyway. Your world will grow, and when it is all said and done even those that turn on you will eventually come around as long as you stay true to yourself and the people & market you serve.

Don't forget money is required to live, so you can't give everything away and you have to get fair compensation for the products and services you offer. In my cases I have staff to pay and expenses to run our office.

Thankfully I have a CFO that looks at the bottom line and gives me a monthly report. I just choose not to focus on that part of my business and try to focus on continually giving value to the market place and producing good thought provoking content.

Focus on giving value and your world will grow larger and larger!
